Youth Burglar In Police Custody

Police Officers at Bundung Borehole Police Station on Tuesday arrested one Namory Keita a 19 years old resident of Nema Wasulung in connection to a case of burglary and stealing.

The case was reported at the Police Station by Zahib Hydara, a Mauritanian national who claimed that their house was broken into by an unknown person at around 06:00AM. He said the attacker stabbed one of his roommates Dhehbi Bellal three times on the right armpit before going away with 2 phones, a bag containing D1000 and a Mauritanian passport.

The CID officers got to work and by the end of the day Namory was arrested. The stolen bag was recovered along with the D1000 and passport but the he said he had already disposed of the mobile phones. They also found on him a tablet which is suspected to be a drug called Ross.

Further investigations also linked Namory to an earlier reported case of breaking and stealing within the same vicinity to which he confessed to be the perpetrator where he stole there a flat screen TV and a smart phone. He had sold the TV to one Baboucarr Ceesay at the sum of D1200. He led the investigators to the said buyer who was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. The police recovered the sold item.

Namory has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of stealing one count of assault causing grievous bodily harm and possession of suspected drug.
