Jammeh Drops Another Useless Title

gam_jammeh_medalGambian president is slowly dropping his numerous and meaningless titles, Babil Mansa [Bridge Building King] becoming the latest casualty. This comes two months after he had abandoned the title of Nasiru Deen [Helper of Islam].

The news, contained in a terse official letter from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, did not explain the reasons for the impromptu about-turn. It only states thus: “The President of the Republic of the Gambia, His Excellency, Sheikh Professor, Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh, has decided to drop the title of Babil Mansa.”

President Jammeh had earlier ditched the title of Nasiru Deen [Helper of Islamic religion] without offering explanation to the public. His office only issued a terse press release informing the public that Gambian leader parted away with the said title.

Critics of Gambian leader have always thrown punches at him for being obsessed with unearned titles. President Jammeh has proven to be a carbon copy of the late Ugandan President Idi Amin Daada who was known for honouring himself with countless number of titles.

It is not clear which title will be next in line for dropping.

Come, come, come! Jammeh is much smarter than Idi Amin. Dropping the “Bridge Builder” title is a clear warning to Senegal that Jammeh may not agree to the building of the TransGambia Bridge afterall!

  2. Sir jackal

you killing me with laughter,Luntango suun gann gi!

    • I think the truth & reality is catching up with the murderous kanilai Satan…. It was the muniru deen, now baabili mansa, next it will be the presidency title we are to strip off him, eventually, & put him & any cohort whosoever aided & abated in harassing, kidnapping, murdering & or defrauding our meagre state resources……. The Gambia is bigger than any psychotic lunatic….. Just warning to hands in glove opportunistic so-called MPs & sycophants within & outside Gambia…. Everyone must account for their deeds in a way…… Insha Allah;

  3. You haters will not succeed. It was lawyer Darboe who mocked our leader, saying that Sankuley kunda is not even a river, but bolong. What a misinformation. But God will defend the president. All you haters are failures. The losers and unpatriotic Gambians will not enjoy the developments.

  4. Lafia Touray la Manju

Badjie, what is Bolong in English??

  5. I don’t see much difference between Jammeh and Idi Amin after all they are both obsess with undeserved titles. So Dida, they’re birds of the same feather, their only difference is generation.

  6. Alimatou Sarr

I really admire the Humble Sir Dawda who built Denton Bridge without bragging about it. He deserves the title of Babil Mansa.

  7. Bakary Jarju

Bolong is a tributary. I want to know whether I am right.

  8. Lafia Touray la Manju

Alimatou, not just Denton Bridge. He built the central bank, replaced the wooden ferries plying between Banjul and barra with modern ferries, yellitenda- Bamba Tenda ferries, establish the Kotu power station, gave us almost all the parastals in the country today, establish the tourist industry, created the national army, built the Serrekunda-Banjul high way, serrekunda-basse high way, barra-amdalai road, extended RVH and built the poli clinic and leman street clinic in Banjul, major health centres in almost all the constituencies in Gambia, built several primary and secondary technical schools, gambia college, MDI, Gtti, purchased property in London to house our diplomatic mission etc etc etc etc etc etc. don’t do the comparison again, my sister.

Sadly, his son, Ebriama Jawara, is a disgrace to his legacy, in my view.

Bakary Jarju, don’t help Badjie. Just leave him to get on with it.

  10. “Jammeh is much smarter than Idi Amin…” You’re having a laugh, my in-law…

Amin was the most cunning customer of his generation….He (literally) “hunted with the dogs and ran with the hares..”

He feigned hatred of colonial/imperial Britain; maltreated British expatriates in Kampala but openly adores the British Monarchy, thus playing the Brits against each other. ..

He wined and dined with the Arabs whilst courting the Israelis and getting Military Aid and Technical Support from them..Not even Uncle Sam (America) and Russia escaped his cunning trickery…

Despite his rule of terror, he endeared himself to many Ugandans by expelling the Asians and handing over their businesses to the locals, rather than creating a business empire for himself..

Amin even succeeded in getting himself the OAU Chairmanship; a feat Jammeh may never achieve. ..

I agree with the writer that the two are comparable in many ways….obscure origins; military background; love of sports (Amin was a boxer; Jammeh was a wrestler); ascension to power through coup; love of titles; no concept of separation of power; desire for life presidency; bloody rule of terror characterised by unimaginable buffoonery…

Will the fall from.grace be similar..? Only time.will.tell.

But indeed, Jammeh is like Idi Amin Dada in.many respects..

  11. You are right Bakary Jarju. ..There is only ONE river in The Gambia which is the River Gambia…All the water bodies that flow from it are Tributaries, locally called “Bolong “. ….

So Lawyer Darboe knows what he’s talking about. …It’s the educated APRC fools like Badjie, who don’t know what they are saying. ..

  12. Luntango Suun Gann Gi

@AntaDiop: I think Sir Jackal got my drift!

  13. Bax : Educated APRC fool, i love it.
This is guy runing around all over Gambian online news papers, using God knows how many names, promoting the criminal, the serial murderor as Bajaw stated above, all in the name of patriatism.

I know of nothing more despicable and pathetic than a man who devotes all his/her working just to justify and the killings and toture of innocent and defencelss human biengs all in the name of patriatism.

  14. Luntango Suun Gann Gi

Babili Mansa was coined by Jungo Bah and is now considered Rochelle Uni FAKE! Lol.
