The Executive Board of the Gambia Press Union (GPU) on Tuesday August 28th unanimously agreed to reschedule the triennial Congress of the Union.
Previously scheduled for August 31 and September 1st, 2018, the Congress will now hold on 7th and 8th September, 2018.
The decision was informed by the fact that as of the deadline, not more than FORTY out of more than 200 potential delegates have paid their subscription. Members are therefore informed that deadline of payment of dues is extended to Monday September 3, 2018.
The Executive Board, in making the decision, was also considerate of the wedding ceremony of a fellow Board Member, Mr Hatab Fadera, which coincided with the earlier scheduled date.
The GPU Board wishes to take this opportunity to call on all Members to settle their arrears by 16:00 hours on Monday September 3. Congress will go ahead as planned regardless of the number of members paid up.
