Daraja HAÏDARA from Mali wins ”African Young Personality of the Year”
at the Africa 3535 Awards ceremony
An awards ceremony to honour 35 Outstanding Young African talents under the age of 35 was held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on November 25, 2019.

The Africa 3535 Awards recognizes the top 35 youth under 35 years old among the most remarkable in Africa and from the Afro-Diaspora. For the 2019 edition, these champions of development and innovation were honored on Monday, November 25th, during a festive ceremony held at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel in Accra.
Selected among several hundred nominations, and following a rigorous selection, these 35 young laureates have spearheaded notable achievements in their communities.
For this 4th edition, the 27-year-old Daraja HAÏDARA from Mali, a social activist, wins the Super Award of the African Young Personality of the Year, an award presented by Mr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Environment, Innovation of Ghana.
Miss Daraja founded in 2010 « Al Barka-AIDE Mali », a humanitarian association that facilitates the sponsorship of thousands of needy children. Thanks to funds it raises, the Association contributes to the schooling of hundreds of disadvantaged children, provides thousands of children with school kits each academic year and facilitates access to birth certificates and free eye consultations for children in a difficult situation.
Very moved as she receives this award, Miss Daraja dedicated her award to all children in Africa to achieve a life with dignity. She subsequently expressed for her country, Mali, peace and greater opportunities for youth.
The awards ceremony was preceded earlier in the day by the”INSPIRATION AFRICA” conference, which gave a speaking platform for several laureates to share their stories and achievements with the Ghanaian public.
Now in its 4th edition, the Africa 3535 Awards has grown to represent a major event celebrating African youth excellence with more than 1,400 applicants from 40 countries to date.
