The remains of the wife of the Gambia’s veteran broadcaster will arrive home for burial on Sunday, September 8th, 2019. Aja Fatou Keita (better known as Mba Nyuku) who had been married to Alhagie Ebrima Bah of Bakau Mamakoto for more than five decades, died in Vancouver, Washington State, United States, on August 24th.
Until her death, the 80-year-old grandma, mother, sister and mentor of many people, had lived in Vancouver for more than a decade. The late Fatou had left a huge impact on the lives of all those who knew her.
Her husband spoke volumes about her late wife. “Without her guidance, wisdom, support and loyalty I would not have excelled in many things,” Alhagie Ebrima had earlier told Kairo Radio. Aja Fatou had been the Great Pillar behind the business success of her husband. “I thank Allah for blessing me with a wife who neither disobeyed nor disrespected me. She was a very obedient, pious and loyal wife who cared and served my needs,” Legendary Broadcaster and Social Healer told mourner after mourner in Vancouver.
As a firm believer, healer and preacher of tolerance, Alhagie Ebrima who traveled to the Gambia along with family members, has accepted Allah’s will. All he wants Muslims to do is to pray for the gentle soul of his wife to rest in Eternal Peace.
Alhagie Ebrima Bah had become a household name in the Gambia whose people he had selflessly served for more than 40 years. A pioneer founder of Supreme Islam Council, mosques and schools anchored Menyanta program on Radio Gambia for years. He used the radio to teach culture, heal and unite the diverse peoples of the Gambia. Despite his old age, Alhagie Ebrima is still committed to giving his very best to his country and her people. It is in this regard that he conducts Menyanta programs on Kairo Radio and Gambia Talents TV.
Kairo Radio mamagement has joined the world to extend heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Bah and Keita for the loss of Aja Fatou Keita who will be laid to rest in Bakau Mamakoto on Sunday at 2 PM.
