Barrow Appoints Interior Minister

Mr. Habib Drammeh has replaced Mai Ahmad Fatty as the Interior Minister, President Adama Barrow’s office announced in a press release published below.

His Excellency, Mr Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, has appointed Mr Habib Saihou Drammeh as Minister of Interior with effect from today, Monday, 4 December 2017.

On Wednesday, 6th December 2017, President Barrow will swear-in Mr Drammeh to fully assume the functions of his office as required by Section 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, which empowers the President to appoint cabinet ministers.

Mr Drammeh holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Corporate Strategy and industrial policy from Maastricht School of Management in The Netherlands over two decades ago. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Manchester, in the UK in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Education/Geography from the University of Nigeria, in 1984.

Mr Drammeh has experience in diverse areas such as Human Resources Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Management and Marketing, Business Feasibility Studies. He also lectured at the University of The Gambia. He has over 30 years combined national and international experience acquired from Muslim High School, Gambia Public Enterprises Sector Consulting, and in the private sector.

Until his appointment, Mr Habib Saihou Drammeh was General Manager of The Gambia Transport Service Company.
