Information reaching this medium has it that Momodou Lamin Gassama, the Project Director of the Agricultural Land and Water Management Development Project was arrested on Wednesday 27th May 2015 at his residence in Jambur Jarri Kunda (Sinchu Giddon).
According to the source, Gassama came home on Wednesday but was picked up by plainclothes officers at his home on the same night.
A Family source confirmed the arrest and was quick to add that he is with the National Intelligent Agency.
Gassama is the Project Director of the multi-million dollar project, funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) targeting women and youths, and seeking to contribute to the eradication of hunger and poverty in rural Gambia.
The US$65M National Agricultural Lands and Water Management Development Project (NEMA) was launched on the 26th to 28th of February 2013 at a workshop.
