What Does OJ Mean?

BREVITY OJ on UnityBy Suntou Touray

Dida Halake Asks, “was OJ Jallow not playing by the rule in Gambian opposition Unity efforts 20 years down the line?”  The former Agriculture Minister of the deposed PPP government made a rallying cry for Gambian opposition to unite in a recent gathering in America.

However, what baffles Dida Halake and many observers is the timing of the Unity call. OJ Jallow is credited by many youths of Serrekunda for helping them travel to Europe and America, and by that past benevolence, OJ Jallow chose the diaspora (U.K and America) to conduct sensitisation meetings in recent weeks. However, in the Gambia itself, the PPP is a major burden no one want to be associated with readily.

The PPP is invincible and lacking mass following for the past 20 years, yet OJ Jallow spearheaded a Diaspora series of meeting, calling it, “reviving the PPP and bringing it back to prominence again.”

In the same vain, former PPP Vice President BB Darboe who have been based in U.K for 17 years in exile indirectly responded to critics of the PPP by saying the “PPP is neither dead nor buried“. The coming out of BB Darboe has also baffled some. BB Darboe has never called for any PPP meeting openly, in his 17 years residence in U.K, and OJ and BB are different political players and personality wise, polls apart. How will the new marriage of convenience be sustained, observers ask?

However, the PPP’s first monumental huddle is to get their once upon a time respect back. The AFPRC and the APRC has for twenty years blamed the PPP for rampant corruption and economic mismanagement with the elites sharing the country’s meager resources. The assets commission also added to the many compounded blames level at the PPP by seizing many properties of the PPP’s former big wigs.

Young Gambians are woken daily by the attacks on the PPP. For the PPP to get any credibility, it most start with admitting some serious faults and then adequately apologizing to Gambians for the failure to create a society in 30 years that is able to defend itself against tyranny. The main task in the revival efforts will be going back to villagers, who have no connection to the PPP 20 years on.

The PPP government in their own way, killed trade unions, student unions and tangible opposition in a civilized political maneuvering. The PPP’s meddling with the army resulted in a former police officer, Gendermerie officer and later GNA officer Yahya Jammeh, an unknown quantity, a riff raff and ragamuffin semi-illiterate to hijack the 1994 coup and engaging in the most audacious dictatorship our sub-region has never experience.

The gross negligence of the PPP is the main causes of the current state of affairs. The unfair wealth distribution, the conceptualization of elitism and the lack of focus on institution building made Yahya Jammeh survive the first months of the coup. The PPP is dead and buried by all accounts, however, with miracle ‘water from the heavens‘, it may be revived. However, the party has no presence in the Gambia, but the country’s politics being what it is, we have to pretend that, the PPP exists. Twenty years on, OJ Jallow is calling for Unity..This message speaks volume.

  1. Gosh Suntou, I do not want to be seen as critical of the Gentleman – God knows he has suffered enough in opposition and deserves our respect. I have spoken to him many times, once in London when he was PPP Minister and spoke AGAINST Eritrean Independence (I think around 1991?) – and for Ethiopia’s unity.

If you have seen my 2006 pro-APRC book, I noted that the 2006 election was “a foregone conclusion because NADD fell apart”. I specifically stated in the book that “the real challenge for the APRC was 2011” – thinking that the opposition will unite by then. From my experience of the opposition to Moi in Kenya (where I am pictured giving funds to Kibaki himself in opposition) UNITY of the opposition is the only thing that can legitimately remove a long entrenched ruler. But Gambia’s opposition remain disunited, so APRC will walk the next election too. Jammeh and the APRC are not in danger – except from themselves (e.g. the killings of the Mile 2 prisoners).

Anyway, I wish OJ all the best.

By the way, my friend Kibaki was a real disappointment – things got WORSE under his rule.

  2. Lafia Touray la Manju

The opposition is the first republic made significant gains in the 1992 defeating key PPP figures including cabinet ministers in the parliamentary election. So to say that the opposition did not have an opportunity to grow under the PPP is bonkers.

    Demba Tambedu of Gpp defeated ppp’s MC Cham in tumana; sheriff mud tapha Dibba of NCP defeated Dr Lamin Kebba Saho of PPP in Central badibu; Dembo by force of NCP, defeated ppp’s Rtd col. Sam Sillah in bakau; Gibou jagne of NCP defeated ppp’s AA Njie in Serrekunda west, Kebba jammeh of NCP defeated ppp’s Dodou ngum in lower Nuimi; Babun fatty of Gpp defeated sir dawda’s nephew(PPP candidate) Kebba jawara in lower fulladu west; dr Manneh, independent candidate, defeated ppp’s Amadou Lowe in Jokadu; Lamin waa juwara, independent, defeated ppp’s Lamin bora mboge in niamina dankunku;

    Election petitions in 1992

Ppp’s Sam sillah filed a petition at the Supreme Court contesting his defeat in bakau constituency. His petition was dismissed.

Ppp’s Dr Lamin Kebba Saho filed a petition contesting his defeat in the central badibu constituency. His petition was dismissed

Ppp’s mc Cham won an election petition at the Supreme Court. A re-run was ordered which he lost to mbemba Tambedu of the opposition Gpp

Ppp’s Amadou Lowe won an election petition at the Supreme Court. A re-run was ordered which he still lost to dr Manneh, the independent candidate.

This is a clear testimony of the good democracy that was occurring under jawara. Opposition parties like the UP of Ps Njie had their own internal problems and consequently died a natural dead after having been overtaken by the NCP and the GPP who by all accounts were doing well.

    Thanks

People like Suntou are fighting their parents fight; since their parents were in the opposition, they can never see anything good with the PPP.

  6. Lafia Touray la Manju

For the records, I am UDP and UDP only. I have nothing to do with the PPP but when it comes to the truth, people need to be honest. The culture of democracy attained under the PPP was laudable and that has to be acknowledged. This is not to say though that the PPP does not have shortcomings. Like all govt around the world, they do.

  7. PPP IS FATHER & MOTHER THAT GAVE BIRTH TO REAL PPP DNA CHILD UDP! PPP HAS BLESSED ITS CHILD FOR 20 YEARS BUT HEY CERTAIN UDP MILITANTS (SO CALLED FEW ELITES, CLIQUE & CABAL) ARE OUR (DISSIDENTS/OPPOSITION FRONT) PROBLEM; ALWAYS SOWING SEEDS OF DISCORD, ON PARTISAN POLITICS & DIVIDE & RULE POLICIES! = ANTI NATIONAL UNITY TO GET RID OF THE KANILAI MONSTER.

THEY ARE PROPONENTS OF “[PARTY-LED” AND POWER HUNGRY = FAILING UDP!

  8. Thank you Lafia Touray la Manju on setting records straight! I like comments above!

    Regards!

  9. Lafia Touray la Manju

Dawda, for your info, UDP leader’s father Spent a good chunk of his life opposing the PPP uptil his death. The UDP leader himself was brought up in an opposition home to PPP having lived his teenage life with Ps Njie of UP with his father serving as not only a member of parliament for the UP but also its propaganda secretary. UDP leader declined jawara’s offer of a ministerial position in honour of his late father. So clearly you don’t know what the heck you are talking about.

  10. Lafia Touray la Manju

I have deliberately chose not to respond to your other comments. May be somebody with abundant time to waste will take you on that.

    Thanks

  11. First things first: I am writing a short narrative on why the PPP failed and the camel’s back is broken. However, before then, let me respond briefly to Lafia. I respect your analysis and comments always, because they are base on facts. However, the PPP’s dominance and stifling of opposition rise cannot be defended because a hand full of opposition mps won. Even in the calamity of APRC rule, some opposition candidates do win…we cannot compare the PPP to APRC in any way. However, all I am saying is, it was gross negligence of duty by PPP top official that gave us the monster Jammeh.

  12. Bex Ceesay, you seems to be making empty assumptions base on the fiction of your imagination. My family were the first port of call for PPP motocades when entering Sandou and Niani. The founding of the PPP were on the backs of able bodied farmers and cattle owners like my family. My grand father did all he can to make the PPP accepted among the ‘Kanda’s’ opinion leaders in WUlli with ‘Walli soninkes, in Sandou with the Diabuku Darboe kunda and, Misera Jawla kunda, to Kuwonku Camara kunda and Touray, to Darsilame Sanyang kunda and Darboe kunda, to the depth and heart of Niani. Those people sacrifice a lot to make the PPP acceptable, because the ruling elites needed assurances, which my grand-father Alhagie Suntou Touray and others offered to participate in making that happen. My family choosing to support an independent candidate of AK Touray never even dent the PPP reliance on them for accessing Sandou and Wulli. Musa Darboe stood against Ak but Musa Darboe of PPP always stays in our compound whenever he is on tour…Musa Darboe’s grand father and our family have connections dating years…Hence, you are throwing junk in the air.
The PPP causes its own down fall. Don’t worry I am coming to that with an article.

  13. Lafia Touray la Manju If I don’t know what am talking about, share with us how is UDP formed and how UDP leader came on board to lead? All am saying is UDP is DNA of PPP = FACT was for redemption because PPP was banned!

  14. PPP FATHER/MOTHER FOR THE CHILD BORN CALLED UDP!

  15. Lafia Touray la Manju

Dawda, if you want you can add; uncle, grandfather , grandmother and great grandfather and mother of the UDP. That won’t change the fact both PPP and UDP have been independent , sovereign and separately registered political parties since 2001 in the case of the PPP and since 1996 in the case of the UDP.

    Thanks

  16. Dawda, the logic in your statement is bogus. There is never closer similarity between two political parties. The NCP is a breakaway from the PPP, but they were never the same. the GPP is a breakaway party from the PPP but also their politics was never the same.
PDOIS has some sympathisers from UP but again their politics is different.
Let alone a new political party like the UDP, where you have a cross section of supporters, from dis-banded PPP, NCP, GPP, and new breed activist who never belongs anywhere. The rational is a redundant nonsensical argument, a fallacy that OJ and BB are thinking of, but they should realise that, their time came and went., we don’t need former tainted figures to tell us anything, other than their mistakes, so that, future generation of Gambians can avoid doing what they did.
UDP has a cross-section of support from all political parties, if any, many PPP supporters went to APRC, the Yaye compins of PPP in Banjul, Serrekunda etc, they all ended up in APRC Yaye Compins. President Jammeh copied all his politics from the PPP, his time as Jawara’s guard galore.

    • Scarlet Pimpernel

Suntou, the notion of comparing Yaya Jammeh copying the politics of the PPP is false. Yaya Jammeh has no knowledge of politics. He is an armed bandit who is hell bent on ruining The Gambia . Yes there were some PPP elements who defected to AFPRC like wise NCP . Was Sherrif Dibba not part of the Jammeh regime? We Gambians made Jammeh what he is today. We are all to be blamed for this mess.
One thing I’m disappointed with you though is by including Mr Halaku in Gambian affairs. This guy was in The Gambia where he implicated many people, dined and wined with the devil, he was thrown in jail and later banned from the country. Now he is trying by all means to be accepted by Jammeh again. Be very careful who you are dealing with.

  17. Lafia Touray la Manju

Suntou, I should add that majanko samusa defeated a PPP candidate in lower badibu. Almamy Touray too did the same in Naini and so does Ebrima janko sanyang in foni. It’s not a handful but a significant minority of opposition mps. There was a very independent and impartial court system that handles elections fairly, professionally and competently. You probably need to attribute ppp’s dominance to something else. This one is bonkers,

    Thanks

  19. Suntou should stop writing such ridiculous articles, disorientating the masses and sowing seeds of discord. PPP is an independent party and is never dead true but why is UDP leader having tours and canvassing but any political party that follow suits, you feel jealousy towards them. PPP have every right to tour and meet the community to canvass and sell its policies, agenda and programme. They are active and ever relevant in Gambian politics and they are part of opposition. We heard them and we can only testify that PPP tour was a success. O.J is terrific and BB said it all that they (I would add including you) are all “chunehs” in Gambian politics!

Jealousy is killing you and your sentiments are fascism Suntou = ONLY UDP AND NO ROOM WITHIN OPPOSITION FRONT FOR ANY POLITICAL PARTY! = VERY WRONG! EACH REGISTERED POLITICAL HAS EVERY RIGHT TO CANVASS, PRESENT ITS PROGRAMMES TO WIN HEARTS & MINDS!

WHAT RECORDS DOES UDP HAVE TO PRESENT TO US? WHAT HAVE UDP DONE SINCE EXISTENCE OF THIS REDEMPTION PARTY CREATED BY DEFAULT? WHAT LEGACY & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES CAN YOU BE PROUD TO IDENTIFY?

PPP HAVE DONE MORE THAN ANY POLITICAL PARTY THAT EVER EXISTED IN THIS COUNTRY IN ITS 30 YEARS OF RULE!

Stop demoralising the opposition front and entertaining people like Dida Halake who is considered an enemy within opposition front. He openly supports our dictator and happy to see opposition front always fail.. Mai Fatty with his one man party GMC is a thorn in flesh of opposition front!

  20. Dawda
Now I am a fascist, jealous? of who? It is better we accept the reality of pseudo opposition than accept ridiculous pretension. Hence, if the PPP record counting is anything to go by, it will have help the Unity efforts long ago. However, the reality is different. Hence, all the cow boys attempting to make PPP relevant are base on diversions, a diversion technique that will fail woefully.

Leave Mai Fatty alone, he is more formidable than the PPP. talking about 20 years ago things is irrelevant Dawda. Yahya Jammeh came through the PPP security management structure. They couldn’t even notice a mole in their midst, because all the elite who were suppose to detect bad apples went to sleep.
The PPP was good in the first ten years of existence when real genuine people were involve, but since Jawara capitulated to neo-elitist selfish enemies within, the PPP cease to be a party of the poor. It became a party of the few urban folks who robbed us millions.
Dawda go tell someone who knows nothing about the PPP about the successes. Call me any name you want, but we have to talk about people whose soul aim is to discredit genuine freedom fighters who sacrifice when PPP elites ran away or hide, enjoying their ill gotten wealth whilst trying to undermine our efforts. Go deceive gullible youths, i am beyond being deceive. let us fight the dictatorship honestly…all the approach PPP guys made to UDP supporters is utter dishonesty, and deception. UDP has no bone to pick with PPP, we have always dealt honestly with our opposition elements, the insincerity and malice towards us is unfathomable, and I for one will divulge on such issues.

  21. Abdoulie darboe

Waa juwara did not contest against the late Lamin mboge in 1992 but Waa lamin ceesay of jareng or kudang point of correction.

  22. Suntou Are you INSANE OR MENTALLY DERANGED TO STATE THIS STATEMENT QUOTED: “Leave Mai Fatty alone, he is more formidable than the PPP. talking about 20 years ago things is irrelevant Dawda.”?

How is Mai Fatty (an individual not GMC competitive with PPP) “more formiable than the PPP.”?

    Totally ridiculous!

CONDEMNING PPP MEANS DISCREDITING UDP NO:2 YAYA JALLOW, MARIAMA DENTON, AMADOU SANNEH, ALL THE “YAI COMPINS” OF UDP AMONG ALL UDP STRONG CANDIDATES AND PILLARSOF UDP!

SHUT UP SUNTOU BEFORE I EXPOSE UDP DIRTY LINEN!

  23. BIRTH OF UDP READ THE “NGENTEH” = NAMING CEREMONY! VERITABLE FACTS AND CLEAR ACCOUNT FROM THIS INTERVIEW;

QUOTE: “Former PPP candidate and APRC Governor Ganyi Touray: Yes I was one of the founding fathers of the UDP but Ousainou Darboe and Femi Peters were not founding members.”

“D/O: The PPP government was removed on July 22nd 1994 . Being a member of the party, what was your reaction to the change?”

“Governor Ganyi Touray: Definitely I was not happy and I was completely against it because I felt that at that time, the PPP was doing the right thing although there were a lot of problems and I could foresee that especially when the president [Sir Dawda] made that pronouncement at Mansa Konko, that he is going to retire. That brought the difference because he didn’t mean it and some people thought that he was pushed, while some were working against it, so that brought the difference. But then I thought that the party was doing very well and I was part of it and if you are part of something, you would not want it to die down.”

“D/O: What was your reason (s) for forming the UDP?”

“Governor Ganyi Touray: What motivated us to join the formation of the UDP was that, when the APRC came into being, all political parties were banned especially the PPP and we thought that we have to form a group and come up with something and the best way was to try and form our own party, a new party like the APRC, NRP, or any other new party. And we thought that we should form a party and give it a name that is fitting. At first, we thought of UP, but we said if it is UP then it’s like we are bringing back that Pierre Njie’s party. So we said ok let’s call it United Democratic Party (UDP) and that has never happened in the country and we had several meetings about it.”

“D/O: Before going further, you said that Ousainou Darboe was not a founding member of the UDP, now can you tell us how the UDP was formed and who were the people behind the formation?”

“Governor Ganyi Touray: During the formation, I was there, Pesseh Njie was there, Ebou Taal was there, Kebba Jammeh, former MP, Ebou Ndow from Banjul and the late Sedia Sanyang. These are the few people I can fully remember. When we formed it, we said now let’s discuss and think about leadership, who is going to lead the party and that was when Sedia Sanyang came with Ousainou Darboe’s name, by then he had travelled to the US. So when he came back, we went and met him, he was reluctant but we said no, we have decided and definitely we want you to be the leader of the party.”

“D/O: Now, Sedia Sanyang did mention about Ousainou Darboe being the leader of the UDP. What qualities did Ousainou have then to lead a party which he was not a founding member?”

“Governor Ganyi Touray: Because he was very vocal and at the same time he had a legal background and we all knew that he was anti PPP. He was branded as NCP by the PPP or UP because he was brought up by Pierre Njie and he was also defending members of PPP such as OJ, MC Cham, Ousainou Njie and others, in the commission of enquiry in a properly manner . We thought that he can fight for people and that was why we chose him. But for me, I wanted people like Malamin Sonko because he is educated just like Ousainou but he has been in the field as a field worker for many years and in politics, you need people who are on the ground, people who know the people at the grassroot level. And for people like Ousainou, these are lawyers who are only in Banjul . When you want to do politics, you must get the people, politics is not only about the capital. That is why we couldn’t succeed because the leadership was not in touch with the people at the grassroot level.”

“D/O: Now during the 1996 elections, that was when we were moving from the transitional period to civilian rule. That election was not an easy election because it was a time when we had both the UDP and the APRC party as new parties. How would you describe that election to somebody who was not part of politics then?”

“Governor Ganyi Touray: Well it was all about people trying to establish themselves against those trying to regain what they lost. I was the first treasurer of the UDP and there were people who would not want to be known and some will call at night and said ok you come to my home or let’s meet at so and so junction, I have some money for you. They don’t want to be seen and during my first encounter with President Jammeh. I don’t know how he knew about it but he told me that: “I am going to tell you something and if you tell the truth, I will give you D100, 000. If what I said is not true, I will give you D100, 000.” I said ok. He said in 1996, around five o’ clock, you went with your ‘Pegeout’ by then I had a Pegeout vehicle and you went up to Westfield, you parked your car and took a taxi and went up to Fajar Golf Coast and somebody gave you D550, 000 and that was the money you used to pay for the deposit of all the UDP candidates for the National Assembly Elections. And this was exactly what happened. I don’t know how he knew this but he told me that if I have interest in knowing something I will know it . He[the president] said you didn’t know, you were just doing your job but I am telling you how you got sponsored.”

  24. Suntou I will leave you for being disingenuous and malicious against PPP; targeting O.J & BB who are credible and formidable assets of opposition front. . You among others made UDP failed and not achieving nothing because of divide & rule policy, cronyism, clique & setting up your own cabal.

These articles are not helpful and why I mentioned Mai Fatty? Because its similar to what he does with his facebook/online politics and activism. You, Mai Fatty among others don’t pacify the storm within opposition front but always agitate antagonism and pettiness!

LET FACELESS GMC PRESENT THEMSELVES TO GAMBIAN COMMUNITY, DRAW A TOUR ITINERARY, PRESENT 2014 PROGRAMME, AGENDA AND MAKE THEMSELVES POPULAR AS A POLITICAL PARTY THAN TAKING SHIELD ON UDP AS LAPDOG! OOOPS I TALK TOO MUCH!

  25. Dawda, yes, I am insane against Ndongos attempting to parade themselves as gentlemen. So tell the old Ndongos to step aside. Big talks, and loud voices will not take the struggle anywhere, neither betraying the trust we once place on ‘green snakes on green grass’. However, please don’t let us slum into who has credibility and who hasn’t. Hey, I know both BB and OJ well, and I will certainly not be pushed to unleash some best kept secrets. I have that wherewithal and restraint son, I decide what to say and what not to.

Both men can still play a part in our politics. However, trying to rejuvenate themselves as options is off the table. To retire is a taboo in politics, power is addictive and the nostalgia to be the BIG man in town is a dangerous trapping. So the brothers need our counsel to play key roles behind the scenes and encourage youths to fight the fight. All the brothers who wish OJ to prepare the grounds for them is not a bad thing, but those brothers should come out and speak for themselves, because OJ will not prepare the ground and then take a back seat, such is unheard of in politics.
Dawda, wouldn’t it be great if you can come out, identify yourself and speak for the PPP, wouldn’t that be great, but then I am expecting too much…Go bye
And the observer commission thing, let us please not unearth more dirt. The commission was in the hand of unclean AFPRC/APRC.

  26. This article supported by wrong assumptions and insinuations is uncalled for period. PPP tour was a success and as a political party they have every right to campaign, canvass and consult citizens/community/electorate. THIS JEALOUSY AND ANGER IS ABOUT UDP LOOSING SUPPORT AND CRUMBLE!

  27. OJ’s message is very clear. It’s history and this malicious article cannot change the situation. PPP knew its sense of direction and challenges that lie ahead! PPP HAS THE BEST POLITICAL RECORDS THAN ANY POLITICAL PARTY EVER IN THE GAMBIA!

LONG LIVE “PEOPLES” “PROGRESSIVE” “PARTY” FOR “PEACE”, “PROSPERITY” & “PROGRESS”!

PPP FOR PPP! “BEM SAFF SAPP!” AK “BENNO SIGGILL GAMBIA”!

  28. Unless my hearing deceive me, but I did once hear BB Darboe tell Pa Nderry Mbai on freedom radio that, he did not read Kaira, Sir Dawda’s widely acclaimed book. Suntou may have some strong opinions on the PPP, however, older members of PPP knew the party got damaged when Jawara did not step down at Mansakonko. BB got angry from that day on. PPP is a legitimate and existing party on paper, sadly, all the former leaders have chosen other directions. There is intense friction among the former senior party executives. I cannot see any way of bringing them back to the fold.
I have fond memories of the party conventions, enjoying with the decent civil service ladies, relaxing in late evening with beer. It will never be the same again. I will retire gracefully in Britain.

  29. PPP KICK-STARTED A REVIVAL AND IS REGURGITATING WITH NEW POLITICAL REALITIES, NEW VISIONS, PROGRAMMES, POLICY, AGENDA, STRATEGIES/TACTICS, NEW GENERATION, NEW BREED READY TO FACE CHALLENGES THAT LIE AHEAD! A POSITIVE THING TO DO; SINCE “20 YEARS ON, TRUTH DAWNS!”

LONG LIVE PPP! EVERY CITIZEN THAT IS GIVEN FRANCHISE DECIDES DESTINY OF NATION!

  30. SMEARING CAMPAIGN AND MALICIOUS SLANDERS ARE PART OF POLITICS!

    FORWARD WITH NEW PPP!

  31. Recorded historical facts cannot be denied, nor twisted to suit particular narratives…

That the UDP is the “brain child” of aggrieved former PPP and NCP officials is undeniable, but completely irrelevant, as far as the role of the UDP is concerned,in the politico-socio-economic process and development of The Gambia.

What is important (which many shy away from ) is what (policies/programmes) the UDP ( or any party ) has to transform our economy and the people’s lives for the better, that is different from what the APRC is doing now or what the PPP has done for 3 decades. That should.be the topics of discussions to determine the relevance of each party to achieving our dreams.

Let us respect the memories of our founding fathers, no matter how little their contribution towards independence.

  32. Suntou : I like you very much, but that was before now, I must say that you fails me terribly, I cannot even begin to think what to write here, but at list every body knows that you have lost this argument both morally and politically, thanks to Bax and Dawda who brilliantly articulates our past and present, i also want say thanks to Demba Baldeh of Gainako for similar narration on the same topic. I can now relax with sense of hope, and optimism, knowing that these three brilliant young men are our own , because disappointment is a sort of bankruptcy, the bankruptcy of a soul that expends too much in hope and expectation ,

  33. Bax Leave the few deluded so called power hungry elites who believe they are more Gambian (citizens) that others and can deny them franchise!

O.J & BB met the community, addressed pertinent issues and as a registered political party are selling the party’s programme, agenda for change (unequivocally advocated as A UNITED FRONT & a position they maintained since 1991) and challenges facing uprooting a MONSTER! How come Suntou can produce this article to castigate PPP and pitting O.J with BB. These articles are dangerous, agitating animosity and deep-seated animosity should end because it only benefit OUR COMMON ENEMY & RUTHLESS KANILAI MONSTER to stay longer than expected????

“This cause is bigger than any individual or group of individuals,” elites, cabal, clique, cronies, opposition political party, party leader, ethnic group and/or tribe; INSPIRED BY FOLLOWING QUOTE COINED BY LAWYER OUSAINOU DARBOE IN UNDP LEADER’S 2011 MESSAGE?

“We ask all our citizens to be an integral part of the change they seek by getting involved in whatever capacity suits them. Change is always a difficult task and along the way it is easy to become despondent, fearful, tired, angry, and sometimes be tempted to throw in the towel. But because the cause we have embarked upon is a just one that must be pursued, we must all strive harder to achieve these important goals. We however, can do it only if we come together as one and face the opponent. This cause is bigger than any individual or group of individuals.”

  34. PA ABDOU SARR FELIX

any gambian calling for unity is a divine being especially in this present situation for only true unity of all opposition parties is the only way forword to bring about peaceful popular change soon in the gambia so oj is right also the Chairman Algali Final PPP regime Public Officials Official Report is still azaited by Gambian citizens to know the exact level of corruption of the deposed PPP regime who ruled the gambia from 1965 to 222nd july 1994 and withut this report the PPP cannot be directly condemned for corruption without official proof and the APRC regime should remember this gap before they leave power otherwise their claims and accusations about abuse of Public office by officials of the former ppp regime cannot legally hold water:in future especially when they leave power.
