In a bid to generate business opportunities for the tiny West African nation, Gambia House will hold the First Nordic Gambian Diaspora Investment Forum on Norwegian soil. The Norway-based organisation is bracing up for a big event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 7 October 2018 at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Sonja Henies Plass 3, Oslo.
Flyers obtained by this medium reveal that the one-day event will be graced by The Gambia’s Vice-President, Ousainou Darboe, and the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, Amadou Sanneh.
Gambia House is co-founded by women rights activists Ndey Jobarteh and Neneh Bojang, who doubles also as a prominent media entrepreneur. In May 2017, they provided an unprecedented opportunity for investors from Norway, Bulgaria and Spain to visit Gambia and explore possible business opportunities in the country. They are both emblematic figures of the struggle to end Yahya Jammeh’s two-decade long dictatorship.
Other guest speakers include Prof. Fibril Faal OBE, Director of Migration and Sustainable Development in The Gambia (MSDG) project; Elizabeth Gomez, CEO Facil Clothing Ltd (Sweden); Momodou Keira, Quality Control Technician at BWT HOH A/S (Denmark); Bubacarr Touray, Senior Officer at Airline Industry (Finland); Sulayman Bah, Gate Agent at Airport Associates (Iceland); Mutara Camara, CEO, Camara Mat Og Fisor (Norway); Demba Ngange Njie, CEO, Sabiji Infrastructure (Sweden); Maimouna Sey, Co-founder Voices of Women Platform (Norway); Johan Christian Tandbery, Founder NORWAYCO GAMBIA Ltd (Gambia); and Saul Frazer, MD and CEO, Founder, Global Properties Group (Gambia).
