PresidentAdama Barrow has appointed Dawda Fadera as the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service. He replaces Pa Musa Jallow who was appointed by ousted President Yahya Jammeh during the six week political impasse that resulted to the ECOWAS military intervention.
Fadera, a career Civil Servant, served as the Permanent Secretary at the Personnel Management Office.
Dawda Fadera’s appointment, which kicked off on February 9th, was contained in a press release issued by the Office of the President.
Mr. Fadera’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the way the government and civil service function has given him an added advantage.
Constitutionally, the President appoints the Head of the Civil Service in accordance with the advice of the Public Service Commission The Head of the Civil Service shall be the competent authority for the Civil Service and that he/she shall not hold any other office of profit or emolument in the service of The Gambia.
Dawda Fadera hails from Kiang Nema in Lower River Region.
