Gambian striker has made a successful debut in English Premiership netting a goal for his new club. Modou Barrow scored the second goal for Swansea City that thrashed Birmingham City 3-2 at full-time.
Barrow officially joined the U-21 club afternoon receiving international clearance on Monday.
“I’m pleased for him (Modou Barrow). We didn’t receive the international clearance until late afternoon,” Swans gaffer Chris Llewellyn told the club’s website.
Barrow, 21, joined the Swans from Sweden’s Ostersunds FK on a three-year deal. The undisclosed deal is estimated at around 1.7 million Pound Sterling. Before moving to Wales the left-footer netted 10 goals for the Swedish side.
Modou Barrow, a quick-witted and fast paced striker, plays from either flanks of the field.
He hopes to progress in his new club.
Barrow, who was born in the Gambia, moved to Sweden as a youngster and has featured for a number of clubs before scoring 10 goals in 19 apearances for Ostersunds last season.
“I’m delighted to be here,” he said. “I now can’t wait to get going and improve each day in training and try to score some goals.
“I like the way Swansea play football, it reminds me of how I used to play back home. I’ve watched a lot of their games on TV and I was impressed with what I saw.
“They like to give young players a chance and hopefully I can progress here.”
