Gambian Voters Back Halake’s Peaceful Change Argument!

(So says the man most brutally attacked on the comments page – LOL!)

Dida Halake (aka Luntango Suun Gann Gi) 4th August 2015, KairoNews:
“Indeed Kamalo, at long last we agree. The opposition’s “predicament since the demise of NADD” is LACK OF UNITY.

Only a SINGLE Opposition Presidential Candidate and only ONE NAM opposition candidate in each constituency can effectively challenge the APRC.

By the way, even in democratic Germany, Merkel is I hear going for a 4th term (20 years) as Chancellor in 2017. As long as the Gambian opposition cannot offer a United Front, the APRC juggernaut will continue winning.”

By Pa Nderry M’Bai 7th August 2015, Freedomnewspaper:
“The opposition National Reconciliation Party (NRP) candidate Momodou Bamba Gaye has won the Lower Saloum bye elections, the Freedom Newspaper can report. Mr. Gaye won with decisive lead ahead of his APRC opponent Kebba Touray. Mr. Gaye registered 2,793 votes, while the APRC’S Kebba Touray secured 1, 613 votes. The entire APRC government machinery were in Lower Saloum to campaign for their candidate Kebba Touray. The likes of Minister Balla Jahumpa, Ousman Sonko, and CRR Governor Omar Khan, were on the ground to canvass for votes for Touray. But at the end of the day, the people of Lower Saloum have spoken.”

  1. I think it is too premature to arrive at that conclusion. I want to believe that this is a bait for opposition parties for 2016 election . The constitutionality of current election act amendment is in question . So Dida and his former boss cannot be trusted and I think his argument without any significant electoral reform is baseless and unrealistic .
