UDP 18 Years Anniversary Rally Audio On Radio Today

The United Democratic Party celebrated its 18 years of existence anniversary on September 25, 2014. Kairo Radio today brings you part two of the party’s anniversary rally today. The programme goes alongside with some uplifting traditional and legendary songs by Modou Bajinka (rumba singer from Kiang Karantaba) and Buba Jammeh of Bakau.

In part two of the UDP rally audio, the party’s Propaganda Secretary aptly summarised the work of being an opposition in the Gambia. Lamin Dibba said “opposition politicians say words that emanate from God, we say what many want to say but are afraid to say them.”

The watershed event attended by the party’s rank and file, executive and supporters. The leader of the opposition National Reconciliation Party had not only honoured the invitation but also delivered a colourful and very moving speech. In that Hamat Bah emphasized the trials, tribulations and sacrifices made by the party leader Lawyer Ousainou Darboe.

Also addressing the crowd in this audio was Ousainou Darboe who gave a recollection of his party’s founding in August 1996. He also paid respect to his comrades that lost their lives in their quest to liberate their country from the clutches of dictatorship.

Watch out for the next broadcast of the anniversary rally highlights on Tuesday when you will hear the voices of Aji Yam Secka, Aji Sukai Kah, Kemeseng Jammeh, Alh Momodou Sanneh and others who all talked about their party’s resolve to fight and end dictatorship in the Gambia.
