A sympathetic Gambian is leading fundraising campaign for a Malian girl who needs money to remove facial mumps. Lamin B. Keita opens a GoFundMe [https://www.gofundme.com/surgery-bill-to-remove-facial-mumps?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=email&utm_content=cta_button&utm_campaign=upd_n] account for Kadiatou Dembele and asks people to donate and help spread the word to bail out a girl “whose face is about to be consumed by this dreadful mumps.”
Mumps, which affects 20 percent of the people, is an extremely contagious viral infection of the salivary glands. It mostly affects children, the most obvious symptom being swelling of the salivary glands, giving the patient a “hamster-like” face.
Find below Mr. Keita’s fundraising drive details:
Please, safe life by contributing $1 towards the medical surgery bill of Kadiatou Dembele in Bamako, Commune 2. As the picture represents, Ms. Dembele’s face is about to be consumed by this dreadful mumps. I met her today at a political rally, trying to solicit fund for her surgery, which can be done in Mali, according to her. However, Ms. Dembele noted that she struggled with this in her entire life because she could not remove it due to lack of money. The doctors in Mali have recommended immediate action to remove this, but she could not because there is no source of funding.
I felt disturbed and obliged to raise awareness of the condition of Ms. Dembele and it is important if one can help, safe life. Because it does not matter where one comes from when it comes to saving human life. You can either directly contact Ms. Dembele with telephone:
