Twenty-two years of brutal dictatorship in our country must stop now. Too much of killings, tortures, rapes, unlawful arrests, humiliations, among other state-sponsored crimes, must come to an end. Following the unlawful arrest and killing of Hon Ebrima Solo Sandeng, a senior member of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and mistreatment of other peaceful protesters, leadership of the UDP decided to take to the streets with a simple demand: give us Solo Sandeng dead or alive.
One would have expected any responsible government to heed to a simple demand. But the innocent people searching for justice were brutally rounded up, detained and arraigned on flimsy charges. The dictatorial regime thinks it has won by throwing the entire top executive of the party at the notorious Mile Two prison. Yahya Jammeh has started a fight that has already exposed his cruel regime to the world and also drained fear among Gambians. The world is now beaming on the Gambia, which is unsettling the world’s worst living dictator.
The chantings of free peaceful protesters backed by waving of calabash have all hinted that Wind of Change has started blowing in the once Smiling Coast of West Africa. The fight will be over if the entire patriotic citizens of our country take to the streets demanding Monster Yahya Jammeh to step down. I hereby declare fitna against dictator Jammeh and his brutal, cruel and barbaric styles of ruling. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. He has to go by any means necessary. Lawyer Ousainou Darboe and co sacrificed their live for us. So it is about time we stand with them and claim our lost freedom. The Calabash Revolution must be given all the steam it deserves for the benefit of all, including the generations yet unborn. The time is up long since. Dictator Jammeh has to go BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. No retreat, no surrender! With Unity, we can move even the mountain.
