University of The Gambia senior lecturer Dr. Ismaila Ceesay and former Presidential Affairs Minister Momodou Sabally were presented leadership awards at an international forum organized by the Confederation of West African Youths (CWAY) in Freetown Sierra Leone, Saturday March 30, 2019.

The duo received plaudits for their outstanding contribution at a panel themed “New Africa, New Leaders” held during the forum. Dr. Ceesay was recognized as the Most Influential Young Person and Sabally was presented the award of Most Influential Person.

Their awards were in recognition of their exemplary roles in mentoring and inspiring young Africans as well as their functions as thought leaders.

Dr. Ceesay and Sabally were the key panelists at the erstwhile popular TV talk show “Giss Giss” that won public adulation before it was yanked off air by the management of the State Broadcaster GRTS for inexplicable reasons.

It could be recalled that Dr. Ceesay was recently recognized with the Pan-African Leadership award in Morocco. The Confederation of West African Youths is an all-inclusive leading ECOWAS youth platform representing and safeguarding aspirations of millions of youth across the subregion.
