The Campaign for Democratic Change, Gambia (CDCG) has learned with extreme sadness the death of Mr Boubacarr Michael Baldeh which occurred in the Republic of Senegal. The campaign recalled the tremendous achievements the late Mr Baldeh registered in the public service of The Gambia. In the past years, Mr Baldehโs tireless effort while in exile to bring about changes to our countryโs governance and to end human rights abuses is admirable.
On behalf of Mr Bakary Bunja Dabo, CDCG Chairman, who was also a colleague of the late Mr Baldeh, and on behalf of the entire membership of our campaign group, I write to express my heartfelt condolence to the Baldeh family and the people of Mansajang Kunda, the people of Basse and to the entire Gambia population on this irreparable loss.
Our sympathy as well as thanks goes to Government and the people of the sister Republic of Senegal who provided home for this distinguished citizen when the regime in The Gambia made it impossible for him to live in his own country.
We pray that Allah grants his soul eternal mercy in Janna (heaven) and to give his family, loved ones and The Gambian people the fortitude to withstand this difficult moment.
Mr Dodou Jawneh
Partnership Coordinator, CDCG
